ta.
bloody hell, thats a good price, and it looks like they give it a real good going over.

They do, especially with a black truck…You usually need to go through at least twice to get a proper job done, not really their fault, black looks nice n shiny when it’s wet, when it dries it’s another story

very true. driving a black truck i have found the same. exactly as you say, looks great when just done, but as it dries, you can see how much of the soap sticks

you lot need to stop doing these diaries, you make the whole canada/states trips look very appealing. :sunglasses:

When I get around to writing about my last trip you’ll be glad you’re nowhere near the place believe me

Thanks for the info. How many years UK experience did you have? Do firms like drivers to have plenty of years under their belt before hiring them from the UK?

I`d done 17yrs on UK only work, but there’s a lad who started a few months ago for us and is only 21, he took his class 1 at 18 in the UK then came over here for a visit and a trip out and got offered a job.

kr79 has also just started at our place after a visit to Canada and some door knocking of companies to see whats on offer,
and as far as I know all he was doing in the UK was double manning an ice cream van sarf ov da river

Double manning isn’t strictly true I just sat in the back eating the stock
Any way you didn’t tell him your uk experince was driving a transit delivering stock to ■■■■■■■ shops

oh dear, sounds bad. snow?
you still doing the tour work out there?

No he is mainly falling on his arse dragging snow chains round British Columbia

No tour stuff so far, just regular trucking. Yeah the weather has hit with a vengeance, ice everywhere the first week, then snow on top, add mountains into the mix and it all starts going wrong really fast

based on the last 2 posts, its time for me to draw my snow curtains on this topic :grimacing:

Captain Glassback can’t operate a snow shovel let alone snow chains. That’s why he’s fannying about in the kitchen with his apron on

Great diary and read! :stuck_out_tongue:

Would still love to do it, but wife and kids still can’t ‘see the bigger picture’ - This country ain’t going to get better any time soon! :imp:

Everything looks so simpler out there, you never seem to mention grief from office staff…

But I can always have that target to aim for… :unamused:

:open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: a fair bit then.
i’m assuming that because its such a regular event in the winters out there, the authorities are much better at dealing with it?
how about your night heaters when it gets extreme?
