At 45,so it is been posted to DVLA,how do you prove to the relevant authorities that you have a valid licence but it is not on your person, they do not accept photocopies over there.
It is ok in the Uk,as the old bill can call the DVLA,who will say yes,we have that mad hatter`s licence.?About to shred it officer,to keep him off trucknet forever.
You can take a photocopy with an employer’s letter explaining why you don’t have the original, although when I renewed mine last time around I did it online and didn’t have to send my old licence back until I had received the new one.
I think I have only shown my Driving Licence in Europe once and that was when I was getting done and he was making the receipt out.

I’ve just done mine and I didn’t spot an online application ! Tell more please hm.
Apologies, I’ve looked back through earlier posts, you can do this when you change address, direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/Mo … /DG_066944
but not for medical renewals, as far as I can see anyway.
They do not check the licence much,it is normaly,“disc, cmr”,but they may dig deeper if they suspect any more wrong doings, are you sure the photocopy is ok?
