Can a weekly rest of 66 hours made up over to weeks

i did a 24 rest period last weekend.finished at 3.30pm friday thinking id be back in at around 1pm sunday.but been told that ill not be back in till 4am monday.now if i had been back in sunday i worked out that i would need 66 hours off next weekend meaning finishing work at 10am friday morning to start again at 4am monday.

can i make my 66 hours up over 2 weekends or does it have to be taken over one full weekend.as i worked it out i would of taken 60hrs and 30mins rest leaving 5 half hours to make up next week.

If you need to take make up time, you need to take it before the end of the 3rd week of the reduction and it MUST be taken ‘en bloc’, and must be attached to a rest period of at least 9 hours.

If you only had 24h off then the reduction of 21h needs to be repaid in one block attached to another daily or weekly rest so if you want to attach it to a 45h weekly rest you will, as you’ve already worked out, need to have 66h off, which from 15h30 on a Friday takes you to 09h30 on the Monday.

One question though, when you say you “did a 24 rest period” do you mean you literally only had 24h off? The reason I ask is that if you have less than 45h off then you only need to repay the actual number of hours less than 45h you took. For example if you take 30h off then you only need to repay 15h which could be done, for example, by taking 60h off the next weekend.

Another possible option if you owe say 21 hours is to ‘bounce it’

24 off so 21 owing
45 off
45 off but used as 24 off and 21 paid back - now a new 21 owing
45 off
45 off but used as 24 off and 21 paid back - now a new 21 owing

This might be useful if you cannot get 66 hours off until a holiday

Don’t need to compensate for it next weekend. It’s before the end of the third week FOLLOWING the reduction. You reduced last week, w/e 24th July, so you have until midnight on the 14th August to get the compensation in, in one lump.

That’s true if you make up the hours within a couple of weeks but if you have left it until the third week following the reduction that might not work if you must have a 45 for that week. The compensation must be made before the end of the week which means midnight Sunday and would require a finish on the Friday of latest 06:00.
