Camper,car, &life

Well ,as i said a while ago on a topic that disapeared…suddenly.
I finally would buy a newer camper…well its a 38ft 8bearth , Wildwood 5th wheel camper/////
as i had a small toyota echo i would need to part exchange it for a half ton pickup…Well on saturday morning at 10.30am the toyota was no more!!!
we were north bound on 242 (gravel rd)just out of town when we hit a frost boil at 80kph ,the fact that the toyota has very low clearance and the frost blow out was about a ft higher than my clearance lead to the car sliding on its side then sumersaulting a couple o times and landing on its wheels in the ditch…the fact that the airbags never deployed and the car was still running when we landed never bothered me at the time but has me pd at the mo.
anywho me and the wife got out without a scratch (glass cut me arm ,stuck a plaster on)
with the car still running i drove it back into town and left it at garage, did the rcmp report ,autopack report …(■■■■ wanted to know why we were on a gravel rd…duhhhhh we live in the country and were going shopping!!)
went to work yesterday but i must have had glass scratchin side my ear as i now have a nasty greenish infection.so off to go to docs today…!@##@.

soooooooooooooo what pickup should i buy…jimmy

Wow, that’s a pretty wild ride you had there Jimmy :open_mouth:

Glad you’re both ok, except for the ear

To answer your question, for me it would have to be a Dodge, with a 36ft 5th wheel I’d go for a 2500 with a ■■■■■■■ :sunglasses:

Ford F250

ok,update…
off work for rest o the week, inner ear infection/ear infection …uuh thats why my balance has been a bit off since the gunk appeared.
wasnt helped when after the consultation at village docs when he asked me… thought you might have mentioned the crash…oooooo.oopppssss. lol.
jimmy :imp: :unamused: :exclamation:

There must be something going around with the lughole thing Jimmy, I’ve gone half deaf in my left ear and have that Tinnitus thing going on, I’m like the hunch back of Notre Dame, the bells…

Went to the doc, she stuck her light thing in my ear and said there was SFA wrong, no wax, no infection, nothing. The missus wondered why I rearranged all the furniture when she got home, I told her I was deaf in my left ear, she said ‘Oh you did it so you can hear the telly?’ No i said, I’ve done it so you’re always on my left side, that’s when the fight started

lol,ya wouldnt want to say that to my wife, i feel rotten enough as it is without waking up minus eyebrow/half a tache…
just hope i get a half decient offer today on the car from autopack :unamused: :unamused: :unamused: jimmy

The main thing is that you are ok
I have often thought about a camper but can’t see the point in throwing all that money into some thing you only use two or three weeks a year.
Hotels are more convenient anyway

thought that way aswell but its like 2 extra rooms to the house ,visitors are nice but get the hell to the 5th wheel at night lol…
can pull my boat trailor behind the 5th wheel so when fishing no fighting of mossies in a tent …
jimmy… :unamused:

update…still a little deaf in right ear, looked at dodge etc, but think were getting a gmc sierra, ext cab ,09…
jimmy

I like the look of the GMC, nice big grille, but as I have a Charger and want to keep it, I’d have to go for the RAM 2500 with the big ■■■■■■■ if I was towing, but as I have no intention of owning a tin tent I will get a 1500 with a HEMI when it’s time for a truck and play going sideways a lot :sunglasses:

toyota echo after hitting frost blowout at 80km on to side then rolling twice , landing on its wheels engine still running ,drove 2ml back into town and parked at mpi yard… toyota echo hard as fn nails!!!

you cant see the roof at back pushed in …

oo

o9 gmc sierra ,v8 ,5.3ltr. extended cab… 90k kms …still got 70k kms left on warranty. 4x4 (well auto switchable). 5th wheel thrown in deal ,xm radio, onstar(onstar ,once 3mnths up will be canceled …what a price lol)…
jimmy.

Looks a decent motor that. Bet it’ll pull well :grimacing: :grimacing:

Cheers

Jonny :sunglasses:

Hi Jimbo.Nice truck.Forgive me,i’m not having a dig or being critical but ‘‘why’’ is it that in North America so few drivers don’t buy diesel cars or trucks.[if you’r into the V8 thing, there are plenty of those about in diesel]
It seems to me that, like here in Lappland you do the mileage[100kms to visit a friend is nothing]Up here about 80percent of drivers run diesels.Ihave a Mitsubishi L200 pickup. Most of the companies here give deals on fuel for the drivers private vehicles.Don’t you have anything like that there  I mean, any savings are good for us  Take care.Mike

well… i thought that myself .after having diesel cars for 20yrs in scotland, answer is its a vw tdi or nothing ,and the dealers know it the prices are shocking.
as for diesel pick ups they are yrs behind europe in my opinion,no a lot around really., fuel econony is not good compared to say a euro toyota hillux./mitsi pick up .
jimmy…
