i bought one of these ebay.co.uk/itm/HD-Black-2-5- … 2ec87ad2d6 I paid £12.95 from some seller. I have used it for sixmonths. You need a sd card for recording. I use 8gb cards which record in about a 90 min cycle - rerecording over the top. I carry two so that if anything happens I can pop the card out to ensure it is safe.
Cant see why anyones spends anymore.
Really pleased with it

Yep, same one i got. Works very well
Im ordering one of the following……
ebay.co.uk/itm/130922063332? … 1423.l2649
from what im told it very good quality as I wanted one with a monitor for easy set up.
Not the cheapest but you have pay for quality and something you can rely on.
Depends how much your into it but you cant go wrong with one of these babys.

Would have to agree with roadhawk hd if you can set it up and leave it in your truck a friend of mine has one in his car, otherwise make sure you get one with a monitor for easy set up
The choice of camera depends on what functions the OP wants.
There are many functions that come with systems such as Road hawk, but at a price.
GPS mapping
Long battery life
Power connection to the vehicle 12/24v
USB connectivity
On board or SD memory & many more
If the OP can narrow down his requirements, as well as budget (££’s) then more suitable recomendations can be given

I think I must be a skinflint. I couldn’t spend that much for something that just takes a movie. The chances of it being needed are small. The one I purchased records sound and picture and is brilliant. I swap lorries a lot so its not massive and easy to set up.
Cheap doesn’t always mean rubbish. The same camera was for sale in the Mail a few weeks ago for £60. Buy that one it must be 4 times better.
Just my opinion
Android phone? www.dailyroads.com free app from the Googleplay store.

Its ok for short periods.Know someone who used his phone always charging ended up burning out the micro port on the phone where it joins inside the phone. Samsung S3 for the bin.
Cheaper to buy a dashcam.

I am also looking at these cameras, though not much info on eBay. Does it come with a charging cable? 12/24 volt? Any info would be welcome.

Yes they do. All you need is a memory card, set it to record everytime engine starts. They just record on a loop onto the card in whatever time scale u set, ie 2 min, 5 min etc.
