Cambridgeshire haulier

Hi all.
My late father worked for a Cambridge company in the 1970s, C.L.Eaglen and i wonder if anyone is able to answer some questions relating to their work. I remember going out with dad to collect bagged animal feed from 2 locations in London, possibly in or near the docks but do not recall their names? Seemeal or Seameal is the only thing i recall. One depot was huge and had multiple conveyors to offload onto the back of the trucks, really hard work for those involved. If you have any ideas id be really grateful.

I remember them in the 70s, I used to go there as a boy to help out and went out in their lorry for a ride from time to time.

Hi
Do you mean you visited Eaglens? Or the London distribution centre? What else cannyou recall

I visited Eaglens, was your dad Malcom. Think I used to live near you and went out in the lorry as a boy when your dad was on holiday

Also helping fill that lorry with spillers horse and pony nuts in bags from conveyor belts.
Went to burton on Trent brewery with a load of barley

That picture looks like the corner of the yard at Home End

Aha, that must be Paul S. Long time

Yep dad was Malcolm. I remember those visits too. Happy days

Yes indeed mate, hope you are well. My cover is blown. Happy times.

Wow. Long time indeed.
Are you still in Fulbourn?
I’m trying to research the company and was hoping someone was still around to help, ie families of John or Cyril but no joy yet

No mate left Fulbourn years ago. I can remember quite a bit about the factory and layout up until it moved to Park Farm. Used to be in touch with Cyril’s boys but not for a while now. Pretty sure I saw one of johns daughters last year but didn’t get the chance to speak to her and confirm it. Time flies, must Be a good 5 years since I have seen you

And the rest…
Shame you don’t have John or Cyrils kids contacts
