my dad did a bit for Calor in the early 50’s, it would be out of Wellingborough area, dont know much details , but i found a couple of photo’s

Correct me if I am wrong but I believe that this event took place in 1984. I remember it taking place as I was working at Stoney Stanton at the time and watched some of the driving events. The Leyland Cruiser in the background was one of a hand full that were purchased for gas trunking as they were lightweight (5th Dragoon you would know more about why Calor purchased these). Although they were nice vehicles they were not really up for the job on high mileage heavy load trunking duties (Stoney to Immingham)

I moved to Inverness soon after this event then onto Ellesmere Port in 1989 and I knew Brian Peach from my time there. Brian retired I believe in around 1995.
