The European Highlander and the European Causeway are the two usual boats on this run . They are drive on drive off boats and shouldn’t be a problem unless the crew decide to shoehorn your truck into the corner- that can be a bit on the nasty side at times . If any of those two boats are off the route for maintenance or repairs there is a chance of a replacement boat that you have to back on to drive off . As far as I know there is no shedlued maintenance in the next few weeks so you should be ok .
stop at the top of the ramp and tell the guy you cant reverse and they will put you somewhere handy…or just ask the dude in the van who tells you when to drive across the docks…I had to do it a Cpl of times with a triaxle decker with the steering axle bolloxed and going whatever way it wanted.
I used to be so tired when I arrived I used to drop the drag and hae the shunter put it on and just reverse the wagon on and hook up.i was told when I first started (by the marshall_)that they had not the time to wait on drivers fafing about to get on and just tell them .
As others have said both boats are Ro/Ro and there is VERY little reversing.
He may have to drive down the outside line then reverse straight back to the outside corner but doubt the deck-hands would make a W&D do it!!!
