Had an odd fault yesterday, well 3 really /rolls eyes
1st was lorry wouldn’t start, went through the motions but no starter came in, had that before when Hiab wasn’t located (maybe) and the red Hiab arm light was lighting up when key turned. Got up and fettled all cables and sensors and tilted cab and dropped back down and it started.
Went to drive off and cab not located buzzer and light came on, I’d moved off and was in the way so had to pull forward slightly.
Then had no gears, gearstick just floating about! After several tilting and dropping cab the gears came back but cab not located warnings still displayed, I was literally round corner from yard and certain the cab was located so drove back slowly.
Trying to find someone to look at it now but any clues? Are these issues linked?
When trying to locate a cab I find that it’s best to close my eyes and then turn around really quickly so they don’t have chance to hide!
Sorry, that was facetious, but it was an open goal I couldn’t resist.
To answer seriously though it would seem that the three things could not possibly be linked, but, and it’s a big BUT this is a Daf that you are referring to and it’s well known that electrical gremlins live inside them so you can’t possibly rule out there only being one fault linking all three, or indeed no fault at all.
There are lots of folk here far more knowledgeable than I so hopefully one of them will give you a sensible answer.
Good luck anyway.

When tilting the cab put her in neutral first and leave the gear stick alone when tilted ,so it lines up when put back down,or you could cause damage / enter a world of grief, looks like you were lucky this time.
Did you pump the cab all the way down ? is there sufficient fluid in the reservoir to push it all the down down to engage the latches ? and are the latched sufficiently lubricated to work ?
Thanks for tips, don’t think I did pump it all the way down as it started to self close and sort of slammed shut on the last 12” fall, I’ll check reservoir, couldn’t get cap off yesterday by hand and I’ll grease the two mechanisms for starters.
Today is my desk job so I’ll look at it tomorrow when back at yard (hence my user name on forum, I do it all)

The cab free falling the last bit is normal on a LF (and some others)
You need to put the gear stick in 1st and back to neutral to lock it (the handbook method), I usually find 1st to 2nd, or 3rd to 4th a couple of times works better.
