1989 Foden 4300Brilliant lorry, started on one of those. Is that twist knob on the curved part of the dash the Thermoline fuel heater? I’m sure mine had one, I know the older ones did.
Mine didn’t have the optional sponge on the seat though.
Not sure about the twisted knob on the dash was very young then.
My Uncle always put a cover over the original seat covers as he thought they were more comfortable and kept the cab and seats looking new when he had finished with them.
Inside my first US truck, Volvo VN 610.
F7 ,just have a couple of minutes
Good thread this with a few memories included.
Here is an unfamiliar one for you, the Pegaso Comet that I restored
Before
Needed a bit of work
Repairs completed
Finished

■■■■, that’s a hell of a gear stick! The old Commers had a gear stick that seemed to go for miles and had a bout 4 bends in them! Then there was the big brass hand brake by the driver’s door (I think) As a 13 year old I wasn’t strong enough to let it off …
This is from the 60s - pretty sure it’s an Albion because the only other wagon they had was a Bedford S Type. Not so big on the comfort back then but plenty of oil …
The gearstick is very similar to the LAD Albions, knuckles hit the bonnet in 2nd, elbow hit the back of the cab in 3rd
The miles I covered perched on the bonnet of an ERF in the days before seat belts, heaters, windows that opened properly etc. In a cattle wagon, you’d be sitting amongst sticks, old rope, cans of oil, log books and the odd pig persuader (electric prod) and yes, the joke that kept giving was to get a poke with it! Somewhere in this dark den of grunge was your flask and sandwiches lol!

the thing on the trailer was a prototype mobile home, it’s got wooden exterior instead of aluminium panels, i think it was a disguise kind of idea
