Hi, that would be Frank Burton from Willenhall, they worked mainly for James Bridge copper works at Walsall. They ran billets to IMI at Kirkby on the east lancs and collected cathodes ( flat sheets on pallets) from Liverpool docks. He stored new motors for years in primer and a lot ended up with reg.plates a lot newer than the model would suggest. I believe Frank is still with us probably still flying his pigeons !
Hi , Trev H , Thanks for that information. I remembered the firm as soon as you put it up. Cheers , Barry .

Hi Trev H , thats right Frank would stay in the depot until the last load from merseysid e was back ! He was quite a character .
Hey cc any chance of you posting the M J Jones Volvo that appeared on the West Wales thread ? regards Keith
Hi Barry,
I wouldn’t have remembered the Burton fleet until my memory was jogged!
Don’t know if the IMI works is still operating- last time I was past there it looked like Matthews bulk tippers were clearing the place out.

HI cc and Dave,
Thanks for providing this very smart fleet , so typical of a W Wales haulier . It is interesting to note cc that the threads concerning West . and North Wales along with Joint Motorways seem to have died a natural death with out your input . point taken ! .
Dave , i have to say i did not know any body from Tree harvesting , a Blueline driver gave me the info concerning that Atki , by the way Dave is Churchstoke Shropshire or Montgomery? I can remember the F7 on Builth Gro car park. regards both Keith

Hi Keith,
The village of Churchstoke is in Montgomery, now Powys (which I don’t like ). The Tree Harvesting depot could have been just in Shropshire, as it was close to the border.
Ken Lawson did park in the Goe,so that was the F7 that he drove.
Cheers Dave.
