hi larry,
d.a. lewis or alan as we knew him was from shropshire,he subbed to joint motorways for a good few years.
regards andrew.

The Lewis you loaded off in Newport Larry was just a clearing house they called the bloke who ran it Jack IIRC and his “office” was a shed in his back garden.Nelsons of Arnside loaded off him regularly as well as many of the Penrith lads, all Scotch traffic as you say.Cheers Dennis.

Hi Geraint,
I haven’t been in the Baskerville, its at Clyro. I will ask a good mate of mine who lives that way what its like these days. Usually go to Castlefields on the back road from Hay on Wye to Bredwardine, which is excellent for food these days, or the Bay Horse on the outskirts of Hereford.
Cheers Dave.

Geraint thats right, the Baskerville had bands playing , and im sure that Mike Oldfield along with his sister Sally may have performed there , i believe his album Hergest ridge was written at his home of the same name not too far away from Clyro .
Dave you mention the Castlefields , is that the one on that very sharp bend ? Oh by the way cc good input as usual regards Keith .

Hi all I thought I would put these pictures on again . I used to load the trailers at Shephards of Manchester that used to go down to Port Talbot . The scrap wasn’t as good as Shotton as there was plastic and other stuff that wasn’t taken out but just hidden ! Also we didn’t put chains on the bails just an old sheet and rope !
