If you’re running your own vehicle just refuse to do any jobs they want you to have FORS for. As soon as hauliers start to refuse to do it in sufficient numbers it’ll die the death. Likewise what Khan is bringing in with the cameras and windows in doors etc, if haulage companies start to turn around and go “no thanks we just won’t bother to deliver to London, the expense isn’t worth it and we’ve plenty of work outside of London” then that’ll quietly disappear too.

I won’t work like that unfortunately, the yes men will just add more vehicles to cover demand and hopefully the rates will just go up and up .[/ Hi Dan, What dose FORS mean Ive never heard of it till now, It wasnt about in my Haulage days], Take care & stay safe, Regards Larry.

Like a private club one has to pay to join to be able to deliver to sites mainly in London but also in odd other city’s and Hinckley point power station too .
My deal is with the traffic commissioner when I signed the undertakings I don’t do Fors anymore I work for nice people and don’t go to such sites ,although I have posed as a Fors haulier by getting some stickers on

Been on to Hinckley Point maybe fourteen or fifteen occasions in the last six years never been asked about FORS. Was supposed to go on site few months ago, but refused, they insisted we stayed in the vehicle at all times due to COVID, pass any paperwork through a partially open window and they would unload/load the the vehicle and take responsibility for load security, we declined, in the end we met a vehicle in Bridgewater where the load was transferred.

All the checking is done when the consignor books a delivery slot ,details like reg number drivers name Fors number drivers license number lorry type euro 6 ect will already be on the system prior to a lorry arriving at the gate .

Filled the Booking form in myself, pretty sure FORS is not a mandatory requirement, it’s listed that’s all, well can’t be else we wouldn’t have been allowed on, but every time you go there they have changed things, about eighteen months ago ladders were banned from site, so the guys picking up cabins have to get raised up with a cherry picker to hook the chains on.

Well that’s interesting,I send loads for a major drilling company and they always ask for Fors on this job so I sub them out ,I’ve got a euro 6 sprinter going to bath warminster & Highbridge tomorrow if I’d have known I’d have put the 2 tonne for Hinckley point on too and had a quadruple bubble ,will definitely ask for next time thanks

As I said, it may have changed again, last time we went was November, form filled in at least 48 hours prior, and what ever happens do not send a different vehicle to what’s on the booking form, you get turned away, we are instructed to go direct to site off J23, never been instructed to go to the holding park, up to the gate, get the ok, park up, into the office, name punched in to the iPad, wait for the ■■■■■■.
