Thanks Barry, will email him with the good news.
Some of the old plant from 70s.
This could be the Bins that collapsed in the earlier shots being dismantled.
Did the Butler family start the quarry Paul or was it already established when they took it over? What dates are we looking at as well?
Pete.
Hi Pete, waiting for reply from company secretary could be a few days.I will post as soon has he replies.
The Tarmac Plant being dismantled after a fire put it out of commision. The cost of repairs was too much so it had to go.
This is the last of the photos from Neil Winstanleys collection, got to start looking for more again.

Roy spencer worked at British steel( parkgate)but he changed his name by deed poll
BonkeyDollocks:
Does anyone have any stories relating to Butlers quarry at Maltby in South Yorkshire ? The quarry is now owned by Tarmac and I was wondering if anyone worked from there in the 70s.Any pics would be gratefully received too.
A few photos from my collection of construction vehicles, dating from 1986 at Stainton. Before the days of ‘Elf and safety’, I could take photos of the vehicles when parked up on Saturday mornings. Days of Arthur Bowskill in the quarry and Stan White on the road going trucks, happy days…

Thanks for those Gloves, loved the Foden.I remember the fitters bringing it to the offices one day after being resprayed, pity the number plate is missing could be one of the 7 after being retired or maybe ex Tarmac, regards paul.
After looking at the photo again I have come to my senses to reliase that it is a S36 model not the S39 DOH! my excuse being I have just come back from my hols not with it yet. This was bought second hand to replace the albion reiver not sure where from and later converted to a water bowser.
Got this information the other day from Tom Shirley.
I remember this lorry from brand new it belonged to Harry Evans, lime merchant.
Derbyshire Stone took over Harry Evans.
Tarmac took over Derbyshire Stone and Butlers.
I started work at 15 yrs of age as a Fitter at Derbyshire Stone then Tarmac and finally Via Gellia.
Thanks to Tom if anyone has got pictures of Butlers lorries please feel free to post, regards Paul.

Found this when ‘ratting’ through my albums, 1986.
Tank colour, not unlike old Ribble Cement■■?

Notice the registration has ETO and that used to be a Tarmac reg. No doubt Bonkey will be able to correct me■■?
The reg plate certainly looks familiar Barry. I have seen a few photos of Mammoth transport tankers with similar plates and they were taken over by Tarmac so could be one of them?
Another batch of fantastic photos over on the a Peak District thread. Memories… Many thanks for posting as ever.
