Building confidence

Had my c + e for over three years now
Yes I got it in the forces so never really got the experience after
Now I’m looking to leave the forces end of contract
I’m looking for driving work has being a infantier I have no trade so to speak
I have my CPC also and a year left on my ADR

Now I wouldn’t feel confident jumping into a class one and driving it from the get go
And would hate to muck up on an assessment
Is there company’s out there who give you a feel to the wagons or any company’s who do a few hours just to build my confidence up

Cheers chaps

Where about are you? Cheers for helping keep us safe too it’s appreciate:).

Looking to relocate in south west

Can you not contact your local driving school for a mornings refresher?

I would like to say hi too… Im wayne and from York

Im in a similar position to the OP, but not driven for 5 years no cpc or adr.

I have been for an interview to a local company (full time and weekly sal) Iv been up front that I have not done any driving in the past 5 years and not tired to blag anything and they have invited me back for a trial day with one of the owners (who drives themselves)

My question is, if it dose not go my Way whats the best way to go about getting my CPC and a refresher course (ie what can I add together) I think if i was to do ADR that adds to my cpc.

As i am working part time and currently on job seekers (as my wage is so s++t they top it up) Im able to get help form the british legion if im part way through a job interview, and need extra skills.

Hi, I’m Paul

I’m in a very similar situation to you Wayne, I have been offered a start with a few agencies, but I’m not sure about jumping straight back into it after such a long layoff.

I have been enquiring about refresher training, but it seems to be about £50 per hour with driving schools, and you have to do half or full days with them. however 2 companies told me if you do a full day they will upload 7 hours cpc for an extra £25.
