its a lever that when pulled applies trailer brakes only ive always known it as a trailer brake others call it a dead man

In the days of 3 line braking, that lever was only fitted for owner drivers when pulling ferry trailers :laughing: We had Red, Yellow and Blue lines

It was an emergency trailer brake, but nowadays the brake is incorporated into the handbrake first section

Surely to be a proper Dead Mans handle in the true sense you would have to hold it all the time to keep the brakes off, not apply it to put the brakes on. :confused:

Its my preferred charity as well. my dad was a lorry driver and had his first heart attack at age 44 he had triple bypass but died at age 58 from another heart attack. hope you have recovered and are fit and well
