BRS Sheffield delivering coils to Blackheah Birmingham

Hello
When I was child around 10 years old I would go with my Dad in his lorry from the BRS depot in Staniforth Road Sheffield to steel company in Blackheath in Birmingham & I was wondering if anybody out there knows the name of the company & where it was & id its still going, I realise that in those days Blackheath was a thriving industrial area so there will have been a plethora of such like companies & also I am not 100% sure if it was coils he was delivering.

hi Alf I delivered Steel out of Parkgate & SPT 1967-2001 the drops I remember around Blackheath,Thomas Lench,Blackheath stamping, wolves & Birchley,TP at Oldbury Smethwick drop Forge,British rolling mills Tipton, sedgley Steels, here’s some of BRS loading strip at SPT & in the yard at Staniforth rd ( Stilltime pics)regards Alan

Only name I recognise there is smethwick drop forge but that’s at Kidderminster.
Presume they were in smethwick at some point.
Don’t know anywhere in blackheath.
Not many places have coils anymore.
Not the big bsc ones anyway.

I remember Wolverhampton and Birchley Rolling Mills,Oldbury and Sedgeley Steels and a drop forge at Netherton called Clydesdale Stampings late 60s.

Clydesdale forge at netherton is still going
Qualcast rd mill at Wolverhampton is still going albeit in a limited fashion if that’s the place. Horsley fields I think the exact area.

Thank you all for your replies & photos

I am starting to think that maybe it wasn’t coils my Dad was carrying but it is a long time ago!
