Another old one
great pictures buddy , have you any later ones say 1980s
, not the real years of Brs .
Hi Tidderson , That is a cracking picture looks like it has a load of bales from Courtaulds Greenfield . Cheers, Barry
Grand photo of the old Atki. Looks either freshly painted or properly washed. I’d like a pound for every time I’ve been through those gates. Wonder when the photo was taken.

Looks like a Jaguar XK120 in the middle of the parked cars. Were the drivers paid too much!!!
Probably on the knock, paid for by dodgy nights out!
Good "old dodgy nights out " , they were the days ! , nothing better thasn being paid to cuddle the wife !
Did a quote last week for a lady and saw this in her house, it was a model made by a friend for her late dad , As soon as i saw it I asked who her late dad was and she then told me it was the late Idris Hughes or "TAFFY " , I remember him when I started on Brs he drove a light blue Brs distribution Leyland Terrier.
I described her dad to her ,and she said you have got the removal job for her mum
, great thats another one I dont have to worry about getting .
There’s some truth in the saying, “It ain’t what you know, it’s who you know”.
ROT , you are correct there buddy . Could do with some more at the moment as its quite .
I think it’s pretty quiet all round, matey. Thank goodness I’ve retired and no longer have to keep a mortgage company, growing family and a bank manager. Wouldn’t fancy scratching around for work to keep the wolf from the door these days.

HI Steve, Pickfords shared the depot in Warrington with B R S.
I did go to a Brs depot in Warrington many years ago but cannot recll the address it was in the town ,i know that . One morning left Wallingford at 3am for Edinburgh and Glasgow in my Daf 2500 but knocked the seal out of the back axle going over the Manchester ship Canal ,took me three days to get home
, Brs Oxford depot didnt give a dam about me , they sent a agency up to me with a day cabbed Daf for me to swap the boxes over and carry on the run , i was not happy as the wagon was the pits .
