1A 446, driver Tom Lewis, delivering the boom for a 54RB for George Wimpey, to an opencast coal site at Tibshelf, Derbyshire.
1A 438 driver ‘Busby’ Jackson, or Jackson 4, there were 6 brothers, outside Hayes yard, with a load of sheet piles.
1A 413, driver Tommy Giles at the bottom of Marlborough hill, with a bit of a backload from Days Road. His outward load had been a 40ft long overhead crane gantry, from Ardecar Ltd, Kings Cross to Bristol.

BRS, Hayes & Slough. A couple more for a Thursday afternoon…
1A 457, mate Stan Jarrett, driver George Pearson, Reg Darbin driver of Guy Otter A421, and ‘Lofty’ Hughes, driver of 1A1108 (A cast off that nobody wanted, don’t know where it came from), on the Rochester Way one cold Saturday morning.
1A 446, Tom Lewis again. Since the fork lift has BRS on it, I think this is loading up in Scunthorpe, but I can’t explain the stickers already on the beams.
Hermit… great photos, have spent many days with my Dad at BRS London Rd Coventry in the 50’s, until he went on car delivery in 59, keep em coming.
Brilliant photos, Hermit.

Beautiful photos. The S & D fork lift is based in Swansea, if that helps.
Don’t know where, but mid 1950’s. A nice line-up though, headed by the best looking truck of the day. (But only with that cab !) More anon, with Rotherhithe New Road to Days Road, Bristol, and 2F383, MLJ196, the prototype…
Smashing photo’s Hermit and info.Mike.

With some cropping this picture of Tommy Giles with his ERF becomes more focused and produces a more powerful image.
ps. Now apologies first as I do not want offend anybody - the pictures in this sequence are impressive - however you have loaded them at such a size that they convert to 8" x 5" pictures at 300dpi. So beware - they will soon be on sale on Ebay.
