Yet another British Gas green crowd flex half price electricity event tomorrow, These sunny days & strong winds of late mean excess renewable energy, so a two-hour session of half price leccy tomorrow between 12:30 -14:30. Car charged & all bedding washed then.
British Gas !!! been waiting since June 2023 for them to correctly read our electricity SMART meter.
They keep reading the meter for the flat above and transposing the figures onto our bill
(they are with a different supplier)
I received four bills via e mail in the space of 10 minutes a fortnight ago the worst one said i owed them £2000 plus and the best one said I was £250.00 in credit.
I am now taking photos of the meter weekly to prove my consumption.
Everything in the garden is certainly not rosy !!!
thats almost as bad as the 2 years it took me to get them to replace the boiler. including the time that they ordered it from germany to their instalation team depot who promptly sent it back because they thought i lived in germany
Blimey! thatās a bummer, We had the same kinda crap with Octopus Energy, They never got our monthly bills remotely right despite me sending them pics of the meter readings,
The āsmartā meter was a big part of the problem as it was the old 2/3G type meters that didnāt report back to the Octopus mothership, They kept saying you seem to be using a lot of electricity, er no weāre not. thereās only my missus & me & I was only charging the EV up once a month. In the end we got the ombudsman involved & got a refund of the money we were overpaying.
We went over to British Gas & touch wood allās been good.
you could be in for a nice little rebate then.
By law, any consumption that has not been correctly billed, more than one year ago, you get for free now.
Seriously. Contact the energy onbudsman, and make a complaint.
Part of any resolution includes all incorrectly billed energy over 12 months ago, being zeroed.
Energy customers canāt be charged for energy used more than 12 months ago if the billing error is the supplierās fault. Check the rules carefully if this ā¦
We got the money back as Iād kept all the readings pictures from day one, they never admitted that they were wrong saying weāll refund you as a goodwill gesture, cheeky barstewards.
I omitted to add that the turning point came when they wanted us to increase the monthly DD to a ridiculous amount & I said no way, they came back with, youāll have to go on a pre-payment meter then & thatās when we got in touch with the ombudsman.
