Hiya, seen Brit European advertising car transporter jobs but can’t seem to find anything much about them already on the forums, except one rant from years ago that I’m going to ignore because it was years back.
Does anyone work for them atm? Thumbs up or down from a drivers perspective? Much auction work and are the wages/hours OK? Do you get stuck out on a Friday night or home come lunchtime?
Any thoughts very welcome on here or in PM. Cheers!
Went to Ron’s funeral about five years ago, his son Rod runs it now.
He was at university when I was on there and I hadn’t seen him for best part of forty years, so I was flattered that he recognised me.
Every time I come through Scholar Green I look down Church Lane where the yard used to be and it’s now new houses.

I spoke to Rod a few years ago (about 2008) when I was doing a bit of research, this was before Ron died, he went off & asked Ron about my Dad & the Lorry he used to drive, He remembered both & said he would try & dig out some old photos. Never did get them, but was pleased that he had been remembered.
I wasn’t surprised he remembered the Lorry, It was re-cabbed 3 times within a couple of months,
Brit European are a small fish in the car transporter industry.
Their main contracts were VW group, JLR and BMW. And this year they’ve lost all three…
Yeah, don’t see many of the car transporters about anymore, but always seeing them on HST and DFDS dockside picking up merc trucks and vans and MAN trucks.
OK, thanks guys. So basically, the people that used to work for them agree they were good. Not big in the transporter area but sound to work for. Would have been nice to chat with someone currently on the fleet but sometimes we aren’t that lucky. Thanks again for the input
amete of mine worked for them recently, but on the carpet side…it then moved operations from belgium to the uk, they messed that up, then they lost the contract to a dutch firm, and that was it…i always believe in If it aint broke, dont fix it wish others followed suit…but anyway thats why my mate left, and many others followed, but i think the car transporters run out of sittingbourne, as do stobbarts…but cant help with info except to say they were offering pretty good wages.

Who was your mate at Brits Zeebrugge Tb?
I will maybe know him, I was there about 7 years ago.

Stobart car transporters (previously Autologic, previously Walon, etc, etc) are no more. Now BCA Automotive…
The main work Brit European had in the area was Porsche out of Sheerness. Not sure if they still have it. As previously stated, they’ve lost all their main contracts this year on the car transporter side - BMW, VW Group and JLR…
ROB it was and is Martin Stiller…we worked on Solstor together, after he left brits, but then he went back, and when it went ■■■■ up…hes now working at Planet Earth as a shunter.
Name doesn’t ring a bell, although I knew a few lads there by face but not by name.
He wasn’t an ex Paramedic by any chance was he? I often spoke to a guy there from your area who was.
