Bridlington.....

Very quiet in the coach park…thought there would be a few more here…mind you, good job there isn’t as I will just ■■■■ them off having to run my engine all the time until I go to bed…otherwise no night heater, no radio, no sockets etc!

Its never very busy there and thanks to plans to expand Tesco they knocked down the houses you’d have annoyed leaving the motor running.

At least there’s a 24hr Tesco and toilet facilities onsite.

Bridlington is slowly dying ! I loved spending hols as a kid there but it’s dead now. Not surprised coach park empty. Shame really

last time i went i had a walk round and my tea in wetherspoons,it was chocker with old fishermen types totally bolloxed and very noisy…theres some seats upstairs that you can get plonked out of the way of the crowd and have your food nicely

I was born and brought up there. It was dead by the turn of the 90s and is currently existing in a comatose state on life support. Thatchers decimation of the coal and steel industries sealed Bridlington’s fate in the early 80s as its economy depended entirely on day trippers and holidaymakers from South and West Yorkshire.

Nowadays its awash with junkies and old people who go there to retire because they remembered how it was when they went on holiday and who then spend all their time whinging when it shuts in October and actively blocking any attempts to change it. Almost everyone I went to school with has left and those still there are on the bones of their arse.

I used to go for the week with my grandma & granddad in the early 70’s …he was a South Yorkshire coal miner!
Think I’ve been back once in the last 20 years.

I think the seagulls outnumber people in Bridd.

i’m still here lovin it

the only ones who win in brid are the ones who made their money before they came here.

the locals are a right set of miserable bar stewards .

when the seagulls come out in the moring in Bridlington, then they bring their own sandwiches, somewhat similar to stranraer with slightly less inbreeding.

I was there the other day, it’s a dump with litter everywhere.
The fishermen had been repairing nets on the Quay near the ice house and had left all the cut pieces of net on the floor where they had dropped, no pride.

Dear oh dear, What ever next :open_mouth: :open_mouth: but much healthier than bottles of ■■■■ and bags of crap you will find in the lay byes on your way to Brid for a day out with the family :unamused:

What is sad is the state of the town early on Monday mornings during the summer before anyone is about. The town centre and seafronts are just strewn with litter to the point it makes the A1 verges look clean in comparison.

Healthier for who?
The sea life and birds?
BTW You won’t find my bottles of ■■■■ and bags of crap in the lay byes, I always chuck them as far into the farmers fields as I can.

As long as the bottles are biodegradable then that’s ok,… natural fertilizer

biggest problem in brid to be honest is dog mess, specially on the back streets, the people in authority dont do nothing about this but god forbid you do 33 in a 30 :imp:

what would you rather choose, being passed 3mph too fast and getting a draught or getting ya shoe’s caked ?
