Is this a record? Same bridge struck TWICE in just two hours.
Just wondering…was it the same driver…?

Hit twice in just over 2 hours and three times in five days
It’ not exactly invisible either is it.
Google Maps embedded so you can click the arrows in the image
What bridge… where
is there a diversion in the area or just plain stupidity
Be no bridge left by the end of the week.
Poor efforts so far
C’mon, fess up, who was it? Robroy’s back at work today, has Carryfast landed a job? Moaster’s unusually quiet, driveress, do you go that far north?
Professional drivers🙈. I wonder if they were amongst those who think it’s ok to take a 4.3 veh under a 4.2 bridge because they think there is always a bit of extra more than the sign says.
Outstanding!
At least it will keep the Traffic Commisioners busy, there’s three public inquiries (for the operators) and three driver conduct hearings (for the drivers obviously) and three drivers out of a job
I know a driver who hit a bridge with a box and wasn’t sacked ( rip Dave ) , he was suspended & got a final written warning but not sacked .
How times have changed , you’d not of heard drivers rejoicing about other drivers possibly getting the sack years ago , though I’m not suprised after seeing 2 drivers laughing about the young kid who got stuck at the services in snow ( they got there head tore off over it ) , still never helped him , just skulked back to there cabs , I went and borrowed a shovel & helped the kid get going .
As for bridges 3/4 yrs ago a young lad got sacked for hitting a bridge , my mate told me the full story , he’d just passed his test , first day on the job & the idiots in the office gave him 6 drops round London , c& carrys etc , with a 15 3 tri , he was doing well but a car decided not to wait as the lad came though the arched bridge & he moved a bit to left & caught it , no ifs but he was sacked .
He shouldn’t of been sacked , the ■■■■■■■ idiots who gave him the job should of been , years ago he’d of had a week with a older driver to get the just of the job , get comfortable , then give him a few trunks up the motorway , but then in them days you had ex drivers in the office who had something about them !!.
Who is “rejoicing” about drivers getting sacked? No one said anything like that in this thread.
The financial impact on the operator due to a bridge strike can be many tens of thousands of pounds, so getting sacked is entirely justified.
For example, this incident in 2002 cost the operator
£293,732 (plus interest), you could easily double that for today’s prices
That is the problem today , they have clowns in the office that dont know F/A about the job trying to tell someone how to do it ffs, But then again look at some of the Management? They don
t know what day it is,
Its a shame Road Transport has come to this, you can see why they cannot anybody to do the job? as for new starts who the F==k can they ask if they are not sure about something? (The Milk Man ?? )
none of them about now lol
Oh, and I’d like to think we are all above ‘rejoicing’ about somebody getting sacked.
Apparently near ASDA, on A52, Grantham, earlier today
If only they’d taken the time to put up some warning signs!
Oh, hang on a minute…
Getting the sack could be a bargain. I wonder if or when operators will start sueing drivers for costs due to gross negligence
Suing might be one thing, but getting the money a totally another. It could just add more unrecoverable expense.
