If that was the only downside of Brexit, that would be one thing. But it isn’t the only problem is it?
It is just another of the many issues that were not seen by many, if anyone before Brexit happened. Indeed it was not seen because the Brexit campaigners were telling us that “there would be no downsides” etc.

In this case endless hurdles of unneccesary bureaucracy all funded by extravagant charges and cost, the trademark (or one of them) of the EU.

Brexit has increased the paperwork for many UK businesses. Yes.
Is that a surprise? Since dropping border and customs regs meant lower costs when we were in the EU, why are you apparently shocked that it now costs more? What about that was not warned of?
Customs and admin are a feature of imports and exports in/out of all customs zones. Including bit not just the EU. That is why all over the globe countries are trying to set up free trade zones and ease the costs involved.
The UK has/is doing that again. Aus, NZ, Japan, USA, Canada, etc etc.
Everywhere except with our biggest and nearest trade partner where we cut away from the deal!

An organisation that we as a traditional proud independent nation had to answer to, whilst we paid millions into it, and got thousands back out, whilst being ruled by them in all but name…they succeded where Hitler failed, with their 4th Reich superstate and us kow towing to it.

When we were in the EU we had a say in the rules and regs they set up.
The UK voted against (lost) 2% of votes up to 2016.
All of our trade with the EU, still our biggest and nearest partner, is under their rules still, but we now have no say in new rules.

The EU has 27 members. The ECHR has 46. Only Belarus, Russia, and the Vatican, are outside.

The EU stands up for it’s members and does not give the UK a special deal?
WTF would they? Pleading UK exceptionalism and looking for a better deal than we had as members, (indeed as members we had a better deal than newcomers to the EU) is pathetic bit of begging and blame shifting.
We have left , but you still blame the EU for everything!

What we got was a badly organised cluster ■■■■ of events and ■■■■ ups organised and set out by people who HAD to (and be seen to) negotiate and organise rather than WANT to negotiate and organise with any degree of enthusiasm or desire if success away from it

But I also don’t believe whoever the government of the day has been since 2016 has had any desire to try and make a success of it, largely because none of them clearly wanted it.

Brexit was organised by the Johnson administration. He was in the Leave campaign. In 2019 his Tory manifesto was about getting Brexit done. The Tory candidates all fought on that basis. He won a big majority.

In what crazy world would anyone expect more than all of that?
