Brands Hatch on Saturday

So I was at Brands Hatch on Saturday with my camera and took one of this. I’ve seen it before on the road but I’m curious as to why that configuration. So it’s time to pick some brains. It can’t be to do with GVW cos it can’t gross more than 32t wherever the axles are,so I must be missing something obvious

Called a Tri-dem, Volvo pioneered it I think a few years ago, can remember Wynnstays farmers having one, here’s a couple of pics of a MAN and a Merc,

Thanks Pete. Why that and not the usual two front and two rear  . It’s the first time I’ve seen in,or at least noticed it

I suppose better access to sites and if you run rear end loaders/bin trucks they are handy as you are always running close to your axle weights with a standard 8 legger, they cost a fair bit more than a standard 8 legger too,

Now I know. Thanks
