Braking system diagrams

Has anybody got a link to any good diagrams/explanations of how the various parts of air brake systems work? I know the basics -press this, that happens, but would like to understand them in more detail. Have seen the diagrams on various sites in block form, but would like a breakdown of what each component is doing under what conditions (if any of that makes any sense!)

Isn’t that something drivers are tested on over there, before they are given a licence?

There is a lot of information from the manufacturers, Wabco , Knorr Bremse, Haldex etc on the net. Start with searching Basic Training air brake systems and then look up the various valves. USA systems do (did) use some components not used in Europe. Below are a couple of examples which are not exactly up to date, but they explain how things work:
