It may help if you told us what you’re talking about, why would it be normal to work during your break ?

To do ANY kind of work while your Taco is set to BREAK is of course illegal. My colleague got pulled and prosecuted by VOSA for winding up his racket strap whilst he was on a “Break”. If your working your not on a break - period.
Thought as much as mew driver wanted to know how wide spread this practice was

Happens all the time mate. It’s not right or legal, just happens. Can make the difference between getting home or not.
I’d never do it. Not worth the aggro
i will sometime stick it on break while unloading as if for eg I have 1 1/2 hrs driving time left before a break is due and im perhaps 2 1/4 hrs from where I would prefer to take my break .it allows me to take my break where it suits me! rather than spend 45 mins sitting in a layby . but I will always get my break . this has worked ok up to now but there is always the possibility of getting pulled outside the gates and having to explain why you have been seen getting unloaded but your card shows "rest "

But are you actually involved in the unloading?
