Dominos pizza is the worst to deliver to. Bunch of lazy [zb].
But you do get a free pizza at the end of it.

I always found that there were alot of ‘missing’ items when I’d delivered to costcutters.despite me counting them in the lorry prior to delivery.
I had same issue every day. Pickers not doing the job correctly.
I don’t think the pickers were the issue - I rarely have issues with onestop or tescos with stock missing (maybe one or two items missing max) but then they’re managed stores
Lol. I managed 12 months before Mrs B put her foot down and demanded that I become a class 1 Jedi driving God.

Mate i got f all. The idiots watched me struggling with a cage once on a incline. 10 gormless gimps just staring through the glass looking at me.
How I managed to keep my cool with them I’ll never know.

Gotta be careful cause the shopkeepers would move stuff out of piles you’d put down haha.

Why did she demand that lol
Because I was fast asleep at 9pm every night, bolloxed.
Haha yup it does get ya that way.

Mate,
Next thing you’ll be telling me the costcutter chaps didn’t chuck you a couple of quid for ■■■■■■■ all the stuff in.

Why would I want paying lol better still why would I want to wait around for pizza when I’m on timed deliveries. It’s common sense to go help someone who’s struggling but then again I’m not a ■■■■ so I’ll help people out.

They aren’t exactly timed deliveries though are they - some get a window of 4-5 hours, most just get a day. I don’t understand why you didn’t get any help from anyone. It’s very rare I make a delivery and am not offered assistance.
Then again I am weighed down by all the free food and tips I get so I really do need the help.

I got some help. And some are timed deliveries like at some of the shell garages.
At the end of the day the jobs ■■■■. It has to pay loads cause it can’t get the drivers to do the jobs hence why they are short of drivers all the time.
The shops are a pain and a large majority of shop owners ■■■■ and moan about PH. You get the odd shop that will help not that ithe really bothered me if they did. The job I could do with ease it was only when I was struggling with an over loaded cage on a incline or a ramp and getting stared at did it ■■■■ me off.
Shopkeeper dictating to drivers where to stick the truck always made me laugh. Martin Mccoll in Leicester was a good one. Soon told her where to go as I’m the driver not her.
Their is an air of arrogance amongst a few of them.
As for PH the transport office was great and always assisted so did customer services if I ever needed them which makes a change from the previous place I worked.
My advice for anyone wanting to work at Bookers or any place like PH use it for experience cause you will be tested on your driving skills.
Yes I agree,
I was only joking about the help - it’s very rare and you’re treated like an absolute tool by all and sundry in the shops.
Personally It’s the tesco side of the job I hate. As you’ve said previously the staff seem to think they can dictate where to park or what time their delivery is due. ‘You’ll have to wait until I’ve unloaded this tescos lorry’ seems to be a favourite.
I’m not sure they understand that they are not the only delivery you have to do that day.
Brakes, P&H, 3663 are all companies that get their pound of flesh from you.
On the plus side they’re always short of drivers so I can pick and choose my hours. I make a point of never giving my money to tescos now though and I can thoroughly understand why they are a supermarket in decline
Tesco and Sainsburys have that policy don’t they one truck in at a time yet I’ve been a few that will happily let you in to take the tobacco. It’s all the smaller shops care about. Always ask me to get that off truck first which I never did lol.
I’d only go back once a week if I ever did need the money but as I work nights now it will never happen rather go back on the door lol.
Currently employed at booker driving 18t rigid. Pay is not bad £10.54/h at the moment, either a 38 or 45 hour contract. The work load can be heavy and you normally get no help at any of your drops. Hardest part for me when I started was learning the routes, the best places to park and just getting used to the physicality of the job. You will be the face of the company as many of the customers will never go into the store and you will be their sole point of regular contact. So all their problems and gripes will go through you. Company pension and access to SAYE scheme is an added bonus. The branch I work at you are out solo so 12 odd hour shifts are not unheard of at busy times, especially Christmas. My working week is Mon-Fri 0630-1630 with one Sat every four weeks when the premier allocations go out. The biggest downside to the job is being stuck in branch picking orders and doing stock replenishment. Mind numbingly boring, but not an everyday occurrence. Very little chance of advancing up the food chain from what I have seen, but apart from that I have no major issues working for booker.
On a side note booker longstone is currently looking for an 18t driver
