and at one time ,billy kirkpatrick, (tartan terror), andy kirkpatrick,ronnie roddick (he wrote of the seddon 4wlr fridge on the 74 in fog), big tam ballantine(60s driver) ,jimmy mcclymont (monk) was tractor man at priestdykes also drove the floats ,(my dad).
also forgot they had murraywhaite mains farm as well ,jock mcdonald was the main man & ex police sargeant murrays dad was the worker.
got some photos o the floats from the 60s but trying to figure out how to get them on.

i remember wull newlands.have not seen him for years.last time i saw him at legion.i was having a drink with andy tait the plasterer.with his brother colin. i remember a lot of the names u mentioned
was he related to monk.me and the late wully mills opened the butchery thats 35 years ago
when the new owners bought smiths not intrested in it sold it t taylors who owned browns
been left 22 years now drive a van for express bakery in catherine indusrial estate dumfries

good to see express bakery is still going presto . in the 90s i went there every thursday evening with 10 tons of nelstrop’s flour , handballed it through the roller door , they let me shower upstairs and kip there and off to airdrie in the morning . great people , i always left with fresh morning rolls and cakes .cheers , dave
wullie mills well thats a name from the past!! wull Newlands moved down to outside bury st. edmonds with derick greggan to work in a meat factory…after derick died the factory closed an d wull got a job wi the MOD .as a mess steward about 2 mls from his hoose …best job hes ever had and will be their till he retires…

yup, came of the distance last june, got a job driving a concrete mixer / gravel train in the village i live in…
