I never really thought about this before, but that shot of the DAF seems to show the cab + cabover sleeper + sundry other bodywork is all in one, so all that gubbins had to tilt when you wanted to get access to the engine etc. Do you know if this and similar rigs had to have uprated cab suspension fitted to cope with the extra weight?

Am I right in thinking those Fox VanPlans were a sort of mustard yellow with FOX in black and THE MOVER in white, or is my memory completely [zb]ed? And were (are?) they from S Wales? (I can remember seeing their wagons most frequently on the M4 eastbound).

Hi parkroyal , yes with those marsden pods you have to have uprated cab suspension , on one of Charles wood s early daf lf they did not have them uprated and the cab was like a sinking ship in rough water , when we ordered our lf Daf we had ours uprated in the build .

the top photo is water street port talbot south wales in 1965 them shops are gone now
the bedford reg were rcy878g-jwn23l-ynd379m was a marsden-the fords were gbo626w-mbo779x the bedford in the pic is e360tth other regs i cant remember
This company have hired porters off me in the past , bought the picture off ebay as I thought the livery looked similer to ours .

Subbed myself out to Robinsons the other day and drove this old dog , porters were digging holes in the dash
