The radio in my 12 plate 105 has been working absolutely fine until one day this week it went off without warning and now all it is doing is flashing PROTECT up on the display. Won’t play cd’s, radio or aux iPod. Is it a coded radio? If so how is the code entered as when I press any buttons on the radio nothing happens. There’s obviously power to it for the display to be illuminated but it’s protecting against something? Never had the battery leads disconnected since I bought it so any ideas what it can be please?
Matt.
Could be dropper fault try bridging the ignition feed and memory together.
Pull out the radio connect the red and yellow feed wires together and see what the radio does ,had one last week one wire 12 volts the other 14 ,the radio wired normaly just flashes and won’t do anything ,but connect the 2 together the radio works but when off remains illuminated ,so I fitted a new dropper .
Ok cheers mate. I’ve googled it and it may be as simple as pushing in the reset button but if not I’ll go with your suggestion.
Thanks
Matt.
There is a little reset button next to 6. Try to press it and reset it.

My radio in my XF does the same thing. Pressing the small reset button by the channel 6 button resets it and it works fine again.
Yep, pressed the button and reset it. Working fine again now!
Cheers.
