Absolutely dire company. Did it on agency. Bargain basement haulage. Expected to work all hours for not a lot of money (their overtime was my basic rate) and some of their fleet is horrendous, especially the old stuff on the Hypac contract.
Blakeys son who is probably running it all now is an absolute ■■■■■■■■ who treats you like crap. Woe betide the missus if she ever phones in for you if you’re off sick cos she’ll get a right tirade of abuse.
There’s a reason they have jobs advertised a lot.

for gawd sake - don’t bother! I went there after they got in touch with me (my details passes around from places I worked at) went to the yard and thought - erm this is very dire here. Did the assenement, no problems, then came the rates… I promoty walked out afterwards.
If you go for it and you start on the Nisa contract, you will do work for Nisa sub contracted to Blakey. When any full time jobs come up at Nisa (Bibby) you won;t get in - as simple as that - reason being, is that Blakey (main boss) is also one of the transport peeps in Nisa…

I didn’t know it had. I’d been avoiding dock work as much as possible over the last 10 years so it was the first time I’d been down to the bottom dock gates in years. They seem to be busy enough.
No idea what they’re paying but I had no problems parking at Wooley Edge and putting in a £16 parking ticket.
Considering the value of some of the paper you carry, it’d be daft not to pay parking.
