Blackcircles.com

I only like them for that advert with the old school beemer doing skids

A hell of a lot of part work tyres are winter tyres from Germany so they wear out really fast on our roads/climate. Always check them before you get them fitted.

Thats a good point, Winter tyres are made of a softer more flexible compound so they will wear quickly in normal conditions.

Why would you bother using old tyres, you have no idea of the history of those tyres.

Does this mean if you bought a used car you’d fit new tyres before driving it? As for 6mm being low, what’s the depth on a new tyre, about 8mm I thought.

  1. If I were to consider buying a used car with 6mm tread, I would offer a price to allow for a set of tyres (or walk away).

  2. Recently bought a set of tyres for my Sprinter campervan. The tread depth is 12mm, though I accept car tyres may have less.

but if you buy on blackcircles all they do is direct you to a local {to you } garage to get them fitted, just get the price and the fitting centre they are going to use then go there, qoute the blackcircle price and they will nearly always give you a better deal if you go direct to them and cut blackcircles out

when i got them off black circles they called to the house and fitted them

yeah but i,ll put money on it the van didnt have blackcircles on it, they are just an internet based company that take commission from selling tyres on behalf of other people
the van that came to you would only have been from a local tyre company

yeah your right chavers dad
they just out source the work to the nearest fitters etc
i think at one stage they used to send the actual tyres to the fitter or tyre garage and just pay them a fee for fitting them but not sure if they still do that or not

My garage is a black circle fitter. Your service is down to the tyre place you choose. All that happens is I get a email saying some tyres are on the way need to be fitted at a certain time. So black circles job is very easy they can’t go wrong. Get a quote then get the garage to beat it?

as i said earlier

Try a local part worn garage too.

I just got 4 Pirellis with 6mm for £20 each.

Why would you bother using old tyres, you have no idea of the history of those tyres. 6mm is pretty low anyway so you’re not going to get a lot of mileage out of them. As for paying £20 each, they must’ve seen you coming. In my opinion this is false economy and dangerous not only to yourself but to other road users/pedestrians.

i get my track tyres from a tyre recycling company, they cost sod all, i dont care how much tread they have aslong as they have tread and hold air…then i go drive fast and destroy them

just had a look as i,m after a set for my freelander, wranglers £98+vat nearly fell off sofa, local tyre spot doing em for £75 all in per corner…
