I’ll kick off. 15 speed RoadRanger; widespread misunderstanding Carryfast has stated. Widespread meaning him and a couple of old dears in his knitting circle. There is no shame in not knowing something, but Carryfast cannot admit to not knowing everything.
Despite being explained by multiple members, on multiple threads, Carryfast who has never seen a 15 speed, wanted to argue that he was right and they wrong.

Damn yanks are the worst, and it’s not just on youtubes etc, they really do over ‘mansplain’ in real life. Team meetings take an hour with the preamble before they ever get onto a simple fact lasting 15 seconds. Used to think it was just because the sales presenter type simply wanted to wear you down intellectually so you didn’t notice how crap their product was and just buy it to end the diatribe. But no, they do it in real life.

Looking at the German video it actually shows the future of the European road transport industry at least.
Especially in the case of any serious move to EV trucks.
Scandinavia and NZ are obviously already there to a lesser or greater extent.
Sadly having been stitched up during my day in the job now it’s age which will stop me knowing how this plays out and even more sadly, being a part of it.
That German driver and his colleagues and those new young drivers now in training might hopefully have that privilege.Assuming that the politicians see sense.
As an aside today I used the 281 bus from Surbiton to Fulwell rather than bother with the car and had the privilege of sitting in the front nearside seating position on the lower deck next to the cab.

We know how the authorities do bo diddly eff squat all to stop fuel theft, rubbish security at most truckstops, not that there are enough of them.
Maybe they are hoping if the problem gets worse enough as fuel cost goes up, we’ll have to use half inch plate to protect our tanks, thereby greatly increasing our deadweight so batteries don’t seem quite so bad after all.
Germany ain’t looking for post retirement age foreign drivers.
But that won’t change the the fact that it will take the prime mover shown in the video, to carry enough batteries, required to match the energy contained in the fuel tank capacity of the tractor unit.
Road transport productivity is measured in tonne/miles of payload moved.Your link predictably doesn’t provide the required figure.As opposed to miles per battery pack changes.
So the bloke who couldn’t get off the ground as an owner driver, failed dismally as an employed driver, knows more about costs and balance sheets than successful business operators.
