Black Cat, good or bad luck?

The truth about Black Cats :exclamation:

You know the phrase “Black cat crossed my path” I could never remember if it was Good or bad luck  This week I have discovered the truth :exclamation:

After a really good start to the week, on Thursday morning as i went to pick up my trailer from Fort Edward NY a black cat ran in front of me, ‘now is that good or bad ?’ I thought. Later emptied in Wilmington MA an hour early and right through tp downtown Boston with not one delay I figured it was good but soon learned different. Right onto a loading bay with no one else there, I was soon trapped in by two Canadians with Frieghtliner Classic xl’s and 53ft trailers, so once loaded had to shunt several times to get out without hitting the wall in front of the docks, on to the scales, 89,000lb :exclamation: :exclamation: :exclamation: “Are you happy with that ?” asks the scalehouse girl, “Am I hell” say’s me, so its back to the docks and shunt between the two Canadians again to have 5 lifts taken off. The supervisor takes off 4 and say’s “OK Buddy, off you go”
“I want another off” I said.
“If you are under weight you will have to line up again” he snapped.
I drove to the scales again — 78,358lb, “Are you going to take that ?” asks the girl, “Yes I am” said me … “I’ll penalise your company for under weight” says the boss. “Penalise away” was my response. After messing around there for 3 hours I drove through the tunnels of Boston (and believe me there are a lot of them) on to the Mass pike, to Westfield Plaza where my buddy was waiting for me, yat another set back, the truck park was packed and it took almost an hour to get out, so now we are 4 hours behind schedule. Two miles into climbing the Blandford Mountain, this is a rise of 1,500ft in six miles, I hear a loud bang and start to loose power, I went from 60 mph and down 1 gear to 10 mph in 2nd in the space of half a mile, my first thought  ‘The damm turbo has blown’ Joe (my mate) and I pulled on to a ■■■■■■■■■■■■ and popped the hood, the 4 inch pipe from the turbo to the aftercooler had popped of and the retaining hose clip had broken, in an efort to remove the hole pipe to make it easier to re-fit the top end I snapped the bottom one too. Two hours later a mechanic arrives and fits two more clips, away once more, at the top of the mountain the 13th gear splitter wouldn’t engage, more bad luck, so it was back to the yard at only 65 mph. Today (Friday) I get an easy one to make up for it, Brookes of Dayville CT for 10.00am and get there an hour early, straight on the door, but an hour before they start to take the 28 pallets off. 4 hours and a $120 lumper fee later I get underway, only to get as far as Albany NY and find the biggest traffic jam so far this year.
I forgot to mention that last night we had 5 inches of rain in two hours, flash floods and a power cut for four hours.

BLACK CATS ARE BAD LUCK :frowning:

Black cats may be bad luck, but big gun-metal ones are good luck. Got to love a 400hp Cat purring under a 32 tonner
