There are unconfirmed reports of injuries.
Eyewitnesses said a bin lorry had been travelling at speed in the area and heard a huge bang.
Several people were seen lying on the ground.
A large number of emergency vehicles were in attendance.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “There is an ongoing incident involving a bin lorry on George Square.”
The incident happened at about 14:30. George Square has been closed.

According to this article six people could have died in the accident 
6 confirmed dead at the moment. Apparently it could go into double figures. This is literally 10 minutes from where I live.

That’s rubbish, up-to now there doesn’t appear to be any reason to think it’s anything other than a serious road accident.

Absolute tragedy People of Glasgow must wonder what they have done wrong to have somthing like this happen after the police helicopter tragedy was it last year? RIP to all those who have died and the thoughts go out to their families and everyone in Glasgow.

I appreciate that and I know the poster was just thinking out loud. I just meant there was no basis to start talking about terrorists etc without any knowledge of the facts.
