The rate at the moment is 1.08.
Funny how nobody was crying when it was almost parity at 1.06 in October 2009!
Rates go up and down and it WILL bounce back at some point.

Also funny how about 3 years ago economists were saying that the pound was about 20% overvalued and needed to have a correction, now it has had a correction the same economists are saying it is a disaster, Economists are right up there with politicians and estate agents for being in a so called profession and not having a clue about what they are talking about.

I had to wring MY hankie out several times a day! In Jan 2007 it was 1.50… Ain`t bounced back there yet.

I had to wring MY hankie out several times a day! In Jan 2007 it was 1.50… Ain`t bounced back there yet.
I have owned a villa in Spain since 2001 and I know and feel the joy and pain of the currency fluctuations. I always felt that 1.20 was a good steady rate. Anything above was a bonus and anything below meant a frugal trip abroad lol.
