Biarritz

Might have some time to kill in Biarritz later in the week. Is there anywhere near the coast to park a truck overnight.
Would love to explore the place a wee bit.

Found my own answer. Aire de Bidart.

Go for Gold John.

There’s the Routier at Castets as well, just a bit North of Biaritz.
I dunno what it’s like now, it used to be pretty good and open Sundays.

This time of year it’s pretty quiet down along there so you shouldn’t struggle to park up, even in a supermarket carpark as long as you keep to one side. If you can drop the trailer securely (with a pin lock) you can bobtail fairly close to the town centre. Weather’s a bit unpredictable this week, but enjoy your trip all the same :sunglasses:

If you do end up in Bidart, walk up to the top of the services overlooking the coast and go through the fence there. Its a 10 min walk to the beach restaurants, etc., and 30 mins into St Jean De Luz, well worth a visit. Was there a coupld of weekends ago.

Having been to both I’d concentrate my efforts in getting to Biarritz it’s a very stylish place to go. Bidart beach is great but probably a bit nippy this time of year but great for surfing and easy parking for a unit only.
