Beware! V11 tax renewal - wrong tax band issued

Take care folks; the renewal form for one of our wagon and drags arrived with an incorrect (higher!) amount.

Should be £1,430 - came in at £2, 585 !!!

Our accounts office applied for the disc, not realising the error. It was only spotted by yours truly when the disc arrived. After checking the DVLA website, I rang the RHA help desk; just to check I wasn’t cracking up (!)…as soon as I mentioned ‘tax disc’, she said “ring the DVLA - this has happened a lot since April”

20 minute phone call later and we’ve sent off a V70 for the refund - will keep you posted

We run a couple of wagon & drags & we have been paying £880.00 for 12 months with 6 axles, the wagons plated at 26 Tonnes & a gross weight of 44000Kgs.
Bought another 6 wheeler Rigid & we have put a tri axle draw bar trailer at the back & have been charged £574.50 & are been told the trailer is not Road Friendly & we can only pull 40000Kgs!!! trying to tell the dvla we have put another trailer on the back it is an absolute nightmare why did they call the local dvla offices?

Sounds odd that does ours are £650 standard for 3 axle 26 tonner but with Rpc it’s £280 and 3 axle trailer tax is £230 @44tonne ,no one knows what trailers we have .total paid is £510.

mine was always that too, the renewal came this morning - £2085 :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

I think I have finally got to the bottom of it, and it appears the DVLA are not putting the rigid at the front on Road Friendly Suspension, you have to have the plate altered to contain a ‘R’ for Road Friendly Suspension, I have had an absolute night mare and still not sorted 100% 10 weeks later!!!
