Waste of money, purchase a truckers atlas with bridge heights etc.

In your opinion. Personally, I think, like a good truck atlas, they’re an excellent extra tool to have in your arsenal.
I have the TomTom Pro 5150 and rate it over the Garmin Dezl & Snooper devices (owned both) and particularly find the HD Traffic a Godsend!
Just my opinion though
Nez
tom tom trucknav and a truck atlas just to be sure.

Total waste of money, use google maps or navfree double checked against a truckers atlas.
It doesn’t matter if your satnav is £5 or £500 they still need checking against a truckers atlas…

In the olden days, people used to peel potatoes.

I’ve got a Phillips truckers atlas, but been caught out when unexpected it didn’t have one of the restrictions correctly which luckily I noticed (yes it is this years version)
Looking at Snooper truckmate pro S8000 due to tele with it
Also with multi drop it would save a lot of time rather than 10 mins planning a route when you have 10 - 15 drops a day

I used to check all my routes against my truck atlas. Until I realised that it was a waste of time as so many were missing from the atlas (Philips) and none were missing from the 5150.
5150 and Google Maps for me.

Since they use the same sources for their maps, it doesn’t make much difference which you use - you’ll still need to check the routing (whether produced by a Satnav or by studying a paper map/truckers atlas) against the actual signposted restrictions that you see through the windscreen. The big advantage of a Satnav is that when (not if) you have to deviate from your planned route the Satnav will still keep reading the restrictions for you and incorporating them into any replanning “on the fly”.
I have never followed why anyone would trust to a printed map printed over 3 months ago when TomTom will give you new up to date maps free every three months. To me it’s Tomtom all the way.
