I am driving from Leeds to Newcastle this week and wanted to know where the best truck stops are on the way? What are the facilities like? Are they really busy? etc
Much appreciated

Sadly, the best thing to do is pull in to wetherby services and spend some cash in m&s.
OR the Cornish pasty place is good, but it will take two hours for the pasty to cool down.
I hate the place, it’s just TOO ■■■■■■ BUSY.
it’s like shopping in Ikea but, the alternatives are just so dire.
The querno or whatever it’s called is a good example.
WHY is that place so crap?
It could be a gold mine, especially as it can now be accessed as you come south.
Is the Truck stop at Londonderry still going ?

Good point.
Having said that, I often stop at Doncaster services on the way back from Doncaster to killingholme.
It’s a free world I suppose.
Barton truckstop just south of Darlington is still operational.
And if you can use the A19 there’s a cafe behind some trees on the northbound
not far from Dishforth. It’s mate on the southbound is closed and fenced off.
I’ve spotted a couple more modern ones on that stretch.

Sure is. You leave the A1 at the new bit and run parallel, go past the Quernhow crap hole and its on the right over a new bridge.
use the A19 then you have ron perrys north and south for a sit down job and Macdonalds and KFC at the A689 junction
