Hi , Please advise what is the best shift pattern to take for a New Pass Class 1 driver the options are :
1900 -2300
2300 - 0200
0100 -0400
0300 -0700
0600- 1000
1000- 1400
1300 - 1600
1600 -1900
I just need advice on what shift would work best for me as a New Pass Cat CE Driver …

It’s nothing much to do with anyone being a new pass.
It is more to do with whether you are happier starting work at any particular time of day/night, and how that fits in with everything else.
If you tend to be a “night owl” don’t choose an early morning start.
If you have kids to see in the evenings don’t start at 14hrs00.
Good luck in your job,…whatever time you start it. 
That all your doing 4 hrs depends what your lifestyle etc is.
Some people like getting up early some prefer to do late shifts. All depends what suits you. But good you can choose. Most places just presume your happy starting at 4 5 am
Hi , Thank you for response . Sorry to confuse you …the start time can be anytime between the 4 hour time slots ( not doing just four hours ) example a 1600 -1900 slot …can give me 1700 start …

if i were you i would find out the pay scales. I have been burnt before. One place i worked at for a little while paid you the rate for the time of day you started for the entire shift. This is fine if your on day rate. however its annoying if your expecting x amount an hour but they start you before that rate kicks in and pay you less.
in my case night rate was paid between 22:00 to 06:00 however anyone that started after midnight was considered day shift i was on the 22:00-02:00 shift start… guess how many times they started me after midnight. However if i went for the 18:00-22:00 shift it was all paid at day rate
This was through an agency owned by the green peril. If thats who you are thinking of going with be very very carefull. They will tell you the wages are paye then when you sign up they tell you no thats the umbrella rate if you want paye its lower. The paye IS NOT paye. they still use umbrella companies to pay you. they WILL screw your stamp and tax up and not declare it in a timely manner. By the time you get a tax demand from hmrc they have folded and YOU will be liable.
Hi , Checked the pay rates …Fairly straightforward. Slight increase in the hourly rate 1900 to 0700 …All PAYE .
Still cannot decide which shift pattern i should choose . Iam thinking on the grounds
of a new pass …learning / Traffic congestion …
as said lots will tell you its paye when it isnt. ask what company they use for payrole then google it.

it all depends on what suits you and your other commitments. if it is to proper rdc’s there will be people around to help day and night. During the day and evening you have rush hours traffic and more morons to deal with. during the night they roads tend to be quiet with less idiots but you get road closures.
