Best route from London to Gothenburg

Been asked to price taking one of our racecars to Gothenburg. What’s the Best Route cost wise for an Artic?
By Road from Calais or Dunkirk or Ferry to Denmark or Sweeden. And what costs are involved.

I assume it’s the same Vignette in Denmark as Belgium,
Are there tolls for the Bridges acorss the Baltic?
and Do Sweeden use Vignettes or tolls?

I will be doing my own research, but this is always a good place to ask.

Thank You
David

Check out the freight boat from Killingholme to Gothenborg I’ve been told it’s the cheapest crossing available. Not sure if it’s DFDS or Stena. Vingette for Dk & Sw the same a Benelux. Bridges at Korsor & Malmo very expensive £100++++. Happy trip.

At moment the cheapest option for us looks like Dover - Dunkirk then drive to Puttgarden then ferry to Heisingborg and on to Gothenburg.
Although the Killingholme to Gothenburg route is the cheapest of the direct routes and might be an option.

Putt garden - Helsingborg etc will most likely be cheapest route.

I used to move experimental and crash test cars from Ford Dunton in Essex to Volvo and we always used the Immingham ferry. The company looked at every penny on any route and that was never beaten.

If you are teetotal, take a few books :stuck_out_tongue:

And yes, same vignette, can be bought online.

Looks like they are playing “Who`s turn is it next in the barrell” !!!

And the fella in the centre of the pic at the back looks like he has just realised he lost!!

Does seem to be, but taking the bridges across Denmark and to Malmo isn’t a great deal more. The ferry’s from the UK to Gothenburg are far to expensive for us. We don’t do a lot of crossings in a year, so probably don’t get the best deals.
Sent the quote to my boss, just got to see if we’ll do it our it will be done by a specialist car transport company.

I think you’ll find the mileage to be quite a bit more to use the bridges across Denmark.

For what is worth mate of might was driving on bruce springsteen tour last summer and all their trucks went out from Immingham, althought the drivers were flown over.

Immingham Gothenburg use to be a freighter, maximum 12 drivers, that would explain flying them over I expect. How many lorries does Springsteen need?

For specialist car transport are you running a small flat bed tilt body ? Boat used to be cheaper from Harwich to Goth but I have driven up & delivered Ford prototypes to Stockholm & Helsinki. Long old trip in little old Merc.
Oops just seen you are using an artic…gotta be boat across the stormy seas?

I’ve been offered North Sea RoRo for Killingholme - Gothenburg before through the agent I use. I didn’t use it but it was much cheaper than DFDS.

With this weather you are better off on the ferry. As long as you don’t have to wait toto long for the return boat?
