Mates weren’t needed on drawbar outfits from June 15 1970,indeed the Octupus cattle wagon on the back of your book about that particular type was operated as the front end of such an outfit. I wrote to you at the time that the wagon was actually operated by W.Smith from Ewood Bridge Rossendale and was sold by them around 1970,though the trailer had languished in their yard for years previously, with the 8 legger working solo.
That was the first 400 we bought and it was in the wrong colour. Royal Blue instead of the lighter shade used by OHS. Oops!
■■■■■■■ 335 with Fuller 13 speed I think. They were lovely trucks to drive but I only drove them in Europe on Tarmacked roads. It was only after I left OHS that they were despatched to the Gulf.
