Its because it’s a Driver Training vehicle

Steve

I used to see many crew extensions of the club of four cab, then later on the S-, M- and G-series, particularly on motorway rescue and airport runway work, or driving schools.
But in my years in France I can’t remember having EVER seen a KB 2400 crew cab (i.e. the Berliet TR/GR or Renault R-Series).
Definitely a rare thing I would say.
Cheers

Berliet Stradair with double - cab.

A question for all you knowledgeable Berliet buffs…Was the Ford Transcon a badge engineered Berliet?
Ray

No, although a true Heinz 57, only the cab of the Transcon was from Berliet. Ford only supplied two things, the badge and the invoice

Was trying to upload a photo. FAIL!

The Ford fleet in Cologne got the Transcons but we never did in Daenham

It said on the Ford Motor Company thread that the British trades unions wanted more money for the drivers to drive them, so Ford stuck with D-series’. If true, how ridiculous- refusing to accept better working conditions, unless they came with a pay rise.

That and bad political leadership is why the Germans have a booming motor industry supplying the world and the UK’…is gone to China…

to [zb] anorak, not true about wanting more money, cos in later years when Fords no longer made trucks after the cargo L10 we had Iveco,s and never got any more money except at wage bargaining time, now the Ford fleet is made up of Volvo and Man,s

Hey Julien, You have a nice collection as I hear, did the 360 still had the centaure high roof, I thought it was only on the Berliets TR.
so Renault came later with its high roof. Nice a Centaure is still alive.
The Blue Maggie with sleeper is that yours,I saw in Hommes et Camions??

Bye Eric,

hi Eric! Indeed Centaur equipment was available on TR305, TR350 and the R310 and R360 on (1978 to 1982), then in 1983 the Turboleader appears that not the same raiser cabin and is mass produced while the Centauri were made to the unit in the bodybuilder lamberet. Here is a picture of the inside of mine with its specific raiser:
