Only the last was a prototype ,a new bonnet for the GLR 190 that never came in production.
The others were Berliet-Marroco products with BMC engine, a 4 cylinders for the first one and 6 cylinders for the red one. They are still in use in the country.

In South Algeria a 6x4 GBO 15.

Hi Steve, it’s nice to see those old brochures resurfacing- there was a very comprehensive thread of them on a now-defunct French forum. I was very annoyed when it disappeared, as I had only saved a few of them on my own hard drive! One thing which struck me about that forum, and indeed some other foreign old truck forums, is that they have plenty of photographs but little discussion, compared to this one. It is the background information which makes this forum great.

The TR300 must have been the most impressive roadgoing Berliet ever, when it was launched in 1970. Its subsequent history has parallels with some other vehicles, which have received much more attention on here! Did you have any experience of working on them?

Hello [zb] anorak

Was that the CCF forum by any chance

When RVI took us over in the early 80’s the models I remember working on were JK75. JN90. JP13. GF151. TF231. TR280 and TR305’s. We did some bonneted Berliet operated by the Transport Research Laboratory at Crowthorne . The only V8 I worked on was a R420 owned by some Powerboat champion that lived out Amersham way and seemed a bit miffed I’d never heard of him. I’ll see if I’ve any other brochure’s to post.

Thanks
Steve

Yes, if I remember correctly, it was Camion Club de France. It was going great guns, then it went a bit pear-shaped and they started it again from scratch. Then the original one just disappeared. The new one has also gone, I think. It was a great shame because, in its original form, it was well-stocked with photos and information. There were over 50 pages of Berliet brochures, from all ages, for example. Here’s one I managed archive before the forum died!

Yes I was a member of CCF - I even met up with one of the members when I was on holiday in France and went for a look at his Coach that he was restoring .
Some similar to yours

The second image is the RT&B TR305 Fleet seed into FB Atkins at Derby. The man behind the wheel being AG (Tony) Neath, who worked in Fleet Sales for RT&B, and who was totally responsible for the Atkins family taking Renault . Ken, Arthur, and Ian I think ran Britains largest Renault tractor fleet, but not TR305s, the bulk being the lighter 290s with the ultra economic 06 23 45 engine…

I saw this G290 GT at Fingal vintage show yesterday and chatted to the owner for a while. Even though he only goes to shows, he is over the moon with the fuel economy he receives from his G290. he reckons it does 13~15mpg bobtailing around to various show and does not smoke at all and starts ‘first pick’ of the key in the coldest weather. He is very impressed with it as a truck. By contrast, the guy parked next to him gets 6~8.5mpg bobtailing to various shows.

Evening all, ahh, happy memories, our first two Milan registered 356s, one a rigid 6x2, (Viberti axle), on long term demo/credit deal! and the first 4x2 356 tractor, sold within one week of going on the road…the Italians loved the “BRIO”, and we had a good lad in the works who set the pump up!!! Did she go…you only ever saw Fiats, or OM V8s in the nearside mirror as you passed them!!

Cheerio for now.

What was the difference between the 352ch TR350 and the 356ch one? Was the 356 the same as the later Renault R360?
