Berkshire Companies

windrush:
I seem to recall a FISHER from Burghfield who ran grey coloured trucks, perhaps working for the council? That would be in the 1950/60 period though, so maybe the one in Theale was a later version of the same company?Pete.

It probably is Pete - Their office address was Burghfield

I think Bushells also supplied the Fiat tractor units to Hunter & Parr that used to be down Toutley Rd in Wokingham. They were a cream and red and pulled flat trailers.

Was’nt Fishers in the yard that backed onto the back of RMC Theale but Theale side of the canal bridge??

OMG…I have loved reading this thread…I remember alot of the people and companies mentioned

Hello Lynne.

Hi Lynne,
It’s Paul here. I gave you a job at that firm in Hambridge Lane opposite Tony Green’s place (SR Haulage? run by Gordon Watson and Russell?) and you took over from me at Eggletons on the low loader. I spoke with Dave Plumb a few weeks ago. He’s packed up all of his trucks now and his on the way to retirement. I’ve got some photo’s of Keith’s low loader that I’ll post over the weekend if any one’s interested?
