Bedford Lorries, you used to see them everywhere

A couple of west London-based Bedfords which ran regularly to the continent back in the 70s/80s:

Not a fan of Bedfords personally . . . thought topping up the engine oil half way through the day was a little excessive :unamused:

Nicely restored example of a TK

Chees Eric,

Ah Tiptop, my old friend Daniel, and his family…boy what an outfit…

From Willeme`s with Detroits, to Peterbilt 362s, (has there ever been a more unsuitable lorry for European operations)? Even on to their purple Aardvark T600s, and not forgetting the Bedford TMs.

Perhaps worthy of a longer discourse when I have time, but I need my sleep for there is much carting to do tommorow.

Cheerio for now,

no pictures but i remember them, some were dark blue and others were silver cab with orange bodies, but it might have been the other way round.they had quite a few wagons parked all around the outside of the factory.my dad had a mate who drove there and we used to go to their social club which was very good.sad to see it now empty.cant under stand why the factory doesnt do better nowadays with the metal recycling doing well.and their canteen was delicious
