So since there is a lot more and it has further to fall, how is one supposed to clear 6" of snow off the top of a 14’ high trailer? Health and Safety rules apply.
I am led to believe that some find bridges a suitable means to clear this , but sometimes the snow & ice is taller than imagined

Sitting watching the news. Media and social media driven mass hysteria and panic. Trains cancelled as it might snow within 24hrs. Commuters told to go home. Warnings that people will die in minus 12 temps. Sorry folks its just reality of winter. It gets cold and it snows. Put on extra clothes and a hat. If your from Newcastle id suggest buying a jumper as short sleeves might not cut it.
Me… Ill be warming the cab up before I start to load up. Kettle on for a nice hot cuppa once im done.
A jumper? At minus 12?
Sorry marra, only the Southern wussies wear jumpers at minus 12!
Might think about doing up the shirt buttons if it gets to minus 20 though!!

Can’t see it being a problem…plenty of hot air on here!
Surprised some on here haven’t been on saying if Brexit had been implemented already we could just have banned the Beast from the East from our shores.

East European weather coming over here, disrupting our daffodils, costing us more in heating bills, not to mention favouring drivers who are used to snowy conditions. Bleedin’ liberty it is ! [emoji6]

^^^^^ agreed. Wish we had proper winters like the olden days [emoji4]
Just my bloody luck I’m missing it over on the wrong side of the Pennines [emoji30]
To be fair the winters also actually happened in the winter and we also actually even had a proper Spring and Summer.
Nothing to do with southern pansies snow is ok to drive on, its when it compacts thats a problem…where i live ( yes its south ) people cannot even get their cars away from the kerb in side streets, as the road is compacted with the bloody stuff…meaning they wont make work…wont get paid…so have some sympathy…i have been out clearing the pathway…asking some of the old folk if theyre ok, but have been told there are 3 car accidents on the main road, a truck blocking the road on a pimple of a hill, cos it hasnt been gritted, and certainly not the side roads…theres even a funeral service getting stuck in it…so dont be so brave as some areas have it worse…and even though i have driven in real snowed on major roads across europe and northern turkey ( minus 25/30 ) i still dont like the stuff, its dangerous.

The ‘Beast from the East’ actually so far turned out to be a slight north east breeze if that and above freezing temperatures with a bit of wet snow that melted as soon as it landed. It’s now absolutely calm and around freezing.
It was enough on the A1 south of Scotch Corner that when I moved out of the two tracks in L1 to overtake some vehicles in the unused L2 that my motor couldn’t manage to plough through it at more than 50MPH.
What struck me as odd last night was how localised the snow was. Driving up the m11/a14/a1 and everything was fine, then suddenly I’d be in a white out with snow accumulating on the roads. Then just as suddenly I’d be out of it and driving on clear roads. An hour down the road and white out again.
I hate snow and ice, I snapped my wrist in half slipping on snow covered icy steps. Ever since I tip toe about on the stuff. I’ve got some studded straps that go in your shoes for walking about on ice

I drove up from Colchester to Elgin yesterday and apart from a few snow flurries down south had a nigh on perfect run home, seems I chose the best day to do it …
