Battery life

Hi! I see/hear of many drivers using phone charger, laptop,tv,microwave, kettle, etc, etc when parked up for 24 and 45hr breaks and sometimes even longer. My question??how long will truck battery last do you run truck every so often if so how often for how long what is best practice■■? Thank you!!!

Find a piece of sting, it’s length will tell you how long the battery will last in minutes, hours or days

Hope that helps

Option 1.
Run the motor for at least half hour at intervals.
Option 2.
Fit a low voltage alarm, run the motor when this goes off. This option may also keep you out of trouble when the cold comes.
Option 3.
Fit extra battery and split charge relay.
Option 4.
Buy some jump leads.

Whenever I am on a night out in the yard I make a point of not running the engine to see how long it will last. I know that I can use my laptop for 2 hours and leave the fridge on for 9 hours and it will start no problem. It will soon be nightheater weather though so will pack the jumpleads.
The new mercedes has a good feature on the computer, there is a picture of a battery with a red line through it horizontally, so long as the level is above the red line then there is enough juice to start the engine.

Thing is the temperature makes a difference, the colder it is the less efficient your battery. They will also degrade with age.
